When reporting to this local government entity regarding Los Angeles Pierce College animals, ask politely that the department not forewarn the target of the complaint or investigation in advance of visits, or abate any and all complaints without investigation.

While the facility holds this license type, it engages in no bona fide research activities that would require its farm animal population to come under the guidelines and provisions of the federal Animal Welfare Act. In addition, the Animal Welfare Act specifically exempts by definition "...farm animals, such as but not limited to, livestock or poultry used or intended for use as food or fiber, or livestock or poultry used or intended for use for improving animal nutrition, breeding,management, or production efficiency, or for improving the quality of food or fiber."
